went on the motorway today for the first time.. and everytime I moved into lane 3 the car behind would flash there lights... because they want to drive faster.. I moved over.
But I was doing 70mph, which is the national speed limit on the motor way. I can actually stay in that lane can't I?
But its just polite to move over

Its an overtaking lane. If you're blocking the flow of traffic you have to move. And it's 70mph limit.

So what, you have no right to slow someone up who wants to go faster. It's also in he highway code that you should keep left unless overtaking. I cannot stress this enough, keep to the fucking left hand fucking lane unless you're fucking overtaking!

You should be in the left hand lane at all times other than overtaking.
Once you have completed the overtake return to lane 1.
There is no such thing as a fast lane.

Only reason I was in the right hand lane was cos I was overtaking... then the car behind would flash.. so I moved back over

You need to plan your maneuvers better then don't you. You give way to the right, so what you did is pull out in front of someone and proceed to drive in front of them annoyingly slowly.

Sounds like you pulled out not going quick enough meaning the cars in the outside lane had to slow down if they flashed you

You should move back into the 1st lane as soon as you have got past the car you are overtaking
