Im considering taking my back seat out and having a roll cage fitted.
Is it legal to secure your harness's to it?
Or do they have to be secured to the floor?

I imagin as long as the cage and seat belt fittings are demed to be safe by the mot tester then you'll be ok.
Some people have their seat belts on strut top mounted braces, and they must have mot's!!

i DID have mine on the strut on the rear but i didnt like it and took them off, i think they have to be "securly fitted" and its a bit of a grey area on a strut brace.
i moved mine to the C pillars out the way as im starting on my ICE and i didnt want to cut my floor up yet

What do you think would happen if you rolled it and one of those pillars collapsed?

You shouldn't have harnesses and back seats.

I'd have the cross piece on the rollcage between the two rear mount points and fix it to that, by far the safest way

Mine are just in the bottom rear standard mounting points. ie the lower rear belt holes. I cant see any problem or disadvantage of these.
