I had this problem, I was told by vaux it has to be a vauxhall part and fitted by vauxhall, for you to be insured. I bought an irmscher backbox (cheers dave) and they had a little moan, but let me off as its an irmscher... anything else and I wouldnt have been insured.
The thing is, they said its in the policy handbook, that it has to be a vaux part, fitted by vaux, but I read the policy and it doesnt say that....

When i Had my free insurance with Vaux i told them about Every mod induction kit, Full irmsher kit, Steinmetz front grill, didnt go up at all it just changed the Excess to £600.
I have now had my 1 year free insurance and the only thing which pushed my premium up was my Wheels which pushed it up £100.00 as it has over £2000 of mods now
