well if u read my post below,i ve stained it n it wont come off so yeh just the end part of my backbox which is visible?

good advice Mk4. painting it would just spoil it. better off gettin a new backbox if thats ur only option

try Autoglym metal cleaner or Brasso to get the stain off, and a wire brush.

Nah i use a softish wire brush on my standard tailpipe, and it brings it up gleaming.

If yours is a sebring mate i'd watch using anything too harsh on it. The exhaust is made out of stainless steel, but the tailpipes are chromed, meaning if you scratch it too much it'll just go through the chrome and wont keep the same shine as it had before, i've done it at the bottom of my exhausts where they went a bit black. Try some brasso or chrome cleaner and keep rubbing hard, i'm sure any stains should come out
