I will be getting a cd changer soon which is the same make as my head unit.
Does the changer need an external power source to power it or does it take what it needs from the lead that links it to the head unit
just curious as have never done anything like this before and wanna save a few quid doin it me self. thanks

On most units it will take power from your headunits loom via a bullet connector. Older units required a seperate power source and there are some exceptions. Its dead easy anyway mate if it dont but all new stuff should have it.
