How is an easy way to basically get a .avi or mpg or whatever file and play it on a DVD player?

my DVD played plays VCD's, but I have no idea how to make it into one?

nero - click on make vcd - tell it where the avo/mpeg is - burn it

some dvd players say it will play vcd's but they wont

well they play one type but not the other type (someone help me here, mpeg2 and mpeg4 or something? )

nero does it - well does for me - i just shove mpeg or avi into it and tell it to do its job
