Did you know walkie talkie's aint covered by the "using mobile phone's in yer car" law that recently came into force?
Time to buy i i think, only a 2 mile range but handy for talking to yer mates if your in the same area(outwith shouting distance obviously) or if your all driving to a cruise etc.
And its free to use so no txt or phone call to pay for.

ye, we have 4 cars with them in. i just use it when motorbike learners go pass cos it uses the same frequence, so i tell em to turn right instead of left and stuff like that lol, it does piss the instructors off 
but ye a good idea if u are cruising around with some mates in other cars.

I suppose the cops use walkie talkie's so it'd be hypocritical of them to pull someone for using one if they use them themselves...
Hence the law doesn't cover them.
