i've got a kicker XS50 which is half ohm stable in stereo mode, pushing out 300RMS x 2 at 1/2 ohm!

i want to run 2 12s off it at 1/2 ohm - is it possible to wire down to that resistance level? surely i need DVCsubs at 2 ohms ?

otherwise i'd have to run it at 1ohm in stereo giving only 150RMS per channel

you'd need a sub with dual 1ohm voice coils to get 1/2ohm.
