right, basically he pulled away, span the wheels a bit and then went over a speed bump, and it promptly started popping and banging before cutting out. Thought id post this incase it helps in any way as to what may have gone wrong.

PS Vibs, contact me again on msn if you feel you can help anymore, i appreciate all the help you have given me tonight.

Big bosses of corsasport, let him come back, he has been of great help to me tonight and we need someone with his vast knowledge on engines here.

I had the same problem with the Nova. Are you sure its just firing on one cylinder?

Your saying its getting a signal to the dizzy? And he has a new dizzy, leads, plugs etc?

Take it out for a spin and as soon as it cuts out, start it up but check for a spark out of each lead.

Do you know if its getting fuel?

it wont go anywhere, its deffo getting fuel as its popping and banging from exhaust which is what mine did when running on 3 cylinders. He has changed the dizzy cap, rotor arm, rac checked leads and plugs and said they were fine. the signal is going no further than the dizzy cap. Do you think he should just change the leads and plugs anyway even though they have been checked and are all fairly new anyway?

Yes, definately change them all. Make sure he gets the right ones too. One man's opinion of "ok" is another mans "They're sh'te"

On the rally car, if a parts in doubt, you pull it off and change it rather than hope its ok.

He could try WD40'ing all the leads and where they go into the dizzy, but preferably change them.

Is the engine damp and cold? Like more than normal? And does he have a performance filter on or a standard airbox?

right, these are the mods he has done, incase that helps :

Hybrid turbo
In car adjustable boost
FSE boost valve
Pipercross viper induction kit
Piper camshaft
powerflow turbo back exhaust
ported and polished head

Ill get him to change plugs and leads anyway but any other ideas would be appreciated.

If the weather is cold down there and the engine is damp/colder than normal then he may be having problems because of his Pipercross. If hes still got it, get him to put the standard air filter system back on. Just a thought.
