aint cleaned my car for ages, just rubbed off some dirt and found a couple of scratches. one is about 2 ft long but very faint. The other is a green scratch on the surface. How best can i deal with these? would a good clean and some wax help mask them?

green is probably just paint off another car, use t cut on that, on the other use 1500 grit wet and dry paper, then polish over the top.

use wet and dry sand paper on my main bodywork? bit worried bout doing that?

why? 1500 grit is about as abrasive as t-cut.

trust me, i do all my own bodywork, once everything has been sprayed i go over the lot with 1500 wet and dry, it removes the lumps, then you polish it up after.

i'll try t-cut first i fink. Just im a muppet and would prob end up scratching my paintwork even worse.

1500 grit wont scratch paintwork, its so fine you can hardly tell its sand paper.

Cool - whenmines in the 'shop I'll ask them to remove a scratch I put on removing my 'club' side stickers lol

yes use 1500 grit and it should get rif of the scratches, then polish it after. if you get a bit nervous you could even use 2000 grit. might not woar aswell tho. everytime we spray something we use 1500 to get rid of the tiny lumps in the paint, wont scratch the paint at all

cool. there only laquer scratches - doesn't go as far as the paint and definitely no primer showing.

Kris is right, use 1500 with warm water (with washing up liq in) go over area, and then polish up with G3 to bring the shine back up

its what they do in bodyshop, paint your car, flat it off (with 1500) and buff it with G3

i personally wouldnt risk usin sand paper to remove a scratch... seems like it would make more scratches... i always use Meguires ScratchX... its amazing and u dont need to be nervous about using it!!

as i said above, the sand paper is probably less adbrasive than g3,
it will not mark the paint as polish brings the shine back.

If you dont have a polishing machine, dont use wet'n'dry, its a nightmare to bring compound polishes up by hand. God i think G3 is a nightmare with a polishing machine, never mind without one Thats why i dont use it, some fancy american stuff for me
