i believe that they stop they damper hittiin the top of the suspension, is this right are they worth buying?

i got rear ones
worked for while but mine stil hits arch now 
got spax ones for £20 from ripspeed

shocks have em standard, i assume you meen powerflex ones? i put some longer ones in mine to stop my rear wheels rubbing. now this is ok if your only lowered about 30mm but anymore than that and its a bloody uncomfortable ride.
