Was reading in the paper that the police are implementing a new system where they can issue on the spot fines for people using foul and abbusive language. The chief of police was quoted as saying that this is a measure to clean up the city. He later commented on how this would be put into force at local football mathes

this is part of the public disorder bill, and goes hand in hand wid smoking in public places and drinking in public places (i.e. streets, parks etc)

there was a case a while back where a man was arrested for telling a police man to fuck off. he was not convicted of anycrime because fuck is a word used day to day by many a person.
