Ive got a alloy facia for the mfd unit and was wondering how you mirror finish it to look like this

looks like that one in the link is actually made of a polished alloy or summat!!

yeah it is alloy but its not polished to start with.He mirror finished it and im just wondering if its possible to diy it and if so how to do it and which products to use.

The best way to get that finnish on aluminium is to use a buffing machine. If you don't have 1 then I guess it'd come up like that if you polished it for ages using t-cut... But a buffer is the way forward.

That was one of my scratched ones. I sold it cheap to a guy on MIG that used a machine to get that finish. Get a tin of Brasso and plenty of elbow grease

righto brasso and a greased elbow, if it works then i;ll be chuffed if not then ive not lost owt.

But unless its anodised it will tarnish and go a whiteish colour. Drop it into a chrome platers, they will do for cheap as its so small!

It'll be fine inside the car as its not exposed to the elements. Just a wipe over it with a duster every now and then will do.

use t-cut and scotch brite, then just t-cut it will shine good then used to do this on alloy trim made it like chrome

well ive got some t-cut already, i'll just try brasso see how that goes then try t-cut and scotch bright, by the way what is scotch bright? never heard of it

yeah buffer wud work a treat with it...if u find its gettin tarnished auto sol will shine it up with minimal effort....or consider lacquerin it lightly when its gleamin!!

i got me alloys bare metal polished with no lacquer...bitch to keep but the auto sol polish brings them back a treat
