106mph average, 114mph top. Was monday at 1am on the M4, conditions were very good and there were no cars for miles....oh except the unmarked omega which came screaming up behind me, at that stage it was to late. Was a fully kitted traffic unit, they rewound the video and showed the footage of me speeding. They must of tracked me for a bout a mile and they were at least half a mile behind me cos i could barely see them. Also, the omega had standard lights?!? no xenon lamps?

Really does suck cos i'm only 19 and i already have 3 claims so a conviction will probably mean i wont be able to insure a car for ages! i drive sensibly usually but on this occasion i was speeding and got caught fair and square...so be warned! i never thought it would happen to me but it has will probably be banned for a couple of months as well.

If anyone's been caught speeding or knows of someone that has, any feedback on what to expect in terms of bans, fines, or insurance premiums would be good. also does anyone know of any websites on the subject?

cheers for listening people

Sounds like a typical over confident boy racer to me. you will get raped by courts for doing that sort of speed
Expect a fairly lengthy ban and a hefty fine. Play the conditions, no other cars etc card tho, it might help a bit
Your insurance is going to eat you alive!!

what if you'd had a blowout at that speed??

deserve a ban to be honest mate.........

Yeah cheers meat pie, driving at that kinda of speed is fairly stupid but the car felt stable and it didnt really feel that fast at all. I'm deffinately no 'over-confident' boy racer... i drive a fairly standard 53 corsa sri. are u telling me that you've never driven in excess of 100mph before?

shortly before i was stopped a porsche past me and must of been doing at least 130mph. i cruised most of the 2hour journey but seens as the road was clear and conditions were good i put my foot down.

I do deserve what comes my way though to be honest...i need to be taught a lesson! i've driven form cornwall to bristol before in the early hours of the morning at 120ish. was only a matter of time before something happened...either an accident or getting caught. i admit its not big and its definately not clever.
cheers for the input so far people.

unlucky mate,
but i think ur looking at a ban no questions.

can i ask you, how far back was the unmarked car when it was following you?

was it close enough to make out that there was a passenger?

sounds like a ban....... unlucky mate

thats abit fucked up aint it... the coppers can drive up to 135 mph which is extremely dangerous....

they could have drove at about 5 mph more than u and would have caught ya up in no time!

So ur saying u've never driven over 100mph

A blowout? Well, what happens if people with 150+mph cars have blowout at that speed?? Its all relative. You could be doing 30mph, have a blow out and crash into an oncoming car and die. Its a chance you take whenever you get into a car!!!
