Writes quicker than it reads....
should be opposite way round! I'll do a few checks see if its a good result, guessing its a SINGLE drive & not a RAID?
Also is it SATA, IDE (ATA133, 100, etc...) or SCSI??

CPU is about right... mine is 205 MFLOPS (Athlon 1600)...
Disk is a bit slow... Mine is 16.99MB reading and 14.00MB writing...

SATA, IDE are different standards / connections
tim's right though, the disk access is pretty slow, looks like software-raid & not hardware at those speeds!

My Hyper threaded 2.4GHz P4 beats it. I do have a 1 gig of Corsair LLPT 800MHz dual DDR though, which helps.
Integer maths : 228.9
Floating point math : 240.2 MegaFlops
Complete result : 238.2
I expect that my highish memory scores is what pushes up my overall score and makes up for my slower CPU and slower graphics card. Fast memory means that you aren't throttling your CPU.
On the advanced disk test, on my SATA 7200 RPM 120Gb drive I see average transfer rates of 43Mb/s (win32 uncached, async, 4Mb blocks, 50/50 read/write). My ATA100 7200 RPM 10Gb drive only manages 13.6Mb/s under the same conditions.

in fact I got a better result second time around.
CPU Integer Math : 155.3
Floating Point Math : 349.3
Memory read Cached : 729.8
Memory Write : 538.6
Passmark Rating : 245.4
What does all this stuff mean?
Its quite a cool test tho!

software raid ?! WTF thought you could only get it, if the mobo had a suitable raid chipset?
have to admit dave, the hd seems fooked mate you sure your running its at ata133? i would change over the ide (or sata) cables for some nice decent jobbies that are full 80pins and support ata133 that might help alot have a butchers on overclockers.co.uk
other than that, could drive downloading some utils from the hd's manufactures website and see if they have something that will increase the times. If its a maxtor drive, they have a programme which allows you to set the volume of the hd - ie: loud, low etc. Basically, it slows the drive down to reduce the noise level of it and that will reflect on times etc.
to be honest though, your not going to get any killer times best way is to get raid sorted out on your machine, its fooking wonderful my XP1700+ is about 3-4times quicker at loading programmes than my XP3000 (which im swapping over too)

Just removed my slow graphics card from the equation (switched my GeForce 2 GTS for a nice shiny new ATi Radeon 9800 Pro (AGP 8x)), and switched the hard drive test to my SATA drive. My complete result jumped from 238.2 to 418.6
