just wondering for my future plans on my car. is it legal if ur number plate is not on ur front bumper. like can i show it in my windscreen aslong as it is visible

so why do i always see cars with bodykits on and they dnt have front number plates

As far as i know the number plate has to be on the front of the car. I have mine attached to my mesh in the bumper.
With the rear it has to be attached to the rear of the car (outside) and with courtesy lights attached. (i got pulled for not having this)

As far as DOT are concerned it can be on the windscreen (like mine is), but expect police attention...

As far as current DOT standards, yes, anywhere visible to front of vehicle... But police will get pissed off an tell u otherwise, then find sommet on car that is actually wrong... lol
