Well u can make a tuned car more economical yes by aid of engine managment or some very good hand tuning (carbs) as u can design the managment to use all fuel/air going in. Under easy driving this mpg can go up, but considering
a) it a turbo
b) its tuned by way of (probably) raising boost etc
your assumptions would be right.
No doubt beardy will come online later and call me some more names yadder yadder. But in reality, 55mpg, even in overdrive 6th, you wont get 55mpg.
Maybe doing 40/50mph in 6th?
