Bought some neons off Troublesome. Came round to fit them, and at first they came on fine and were really bright. Bout 5 minutes into my journey, they went dim, and after stopping i found that only half of each tube was working correctly. Got to work and checked all the wiring and it seems fine, so don't know what it could be ????
I have wired them up to a permanent live on the battery, and i have used the same bolt on the body as the battery for my earth. I have used a 5 amp inline fuse on my live wire.
Cheers for any help !!!

yip, this happened to me matey, took me ages to find out why the neons werent fully lighting up! check the last neon in your series and you might find that the tube has blown. the others still light up slightly. its an obvious thing to check but if your looking for WIRING PROBLEM, YOU'LL NEVER FIND IT

already u2u troublesome, but he didn't know what the problem could be but offered 2 change them for me. I think it might be that little black box thing you attach everythin to. Wots inside that ??? is it just a distribution type box 2 split the +ve and -ve between both neons ??
The thing is that both neon tubes still light up, it's just the fact that they don't light up all the way along the tube, just like 10-15cm from the wiring end lights up and thats it. Don't know what it could be ??? cos they worked perfectly before

sounds more of a connection problem if you've had them working... or your powers not enough when the cars up and running!
