After removing the old Double DIN HU

Has anyone noticed the bit of plastic right at the back of the hole (where the cage is bolted on to)

Do you think it would be ok to remove this? or is it a vital part of the dash?

Reason is that my Kenwood screen has 3 fitting depths with 2 diffrent facias. The fitting depth that i would like most is when the unit sits furthest back.

Because this bit of plastic at the back is in the way by about 2mm
It stoppes the HU cage from locking the HU into place, for security.

So if i were able to remove this bit of plastic it would be a great help

Cheers

Read it properly he said hed already taken out the screw and cage but the plastic that the screw went into is sticking out and wont let the head unit slot home onto the cage
