Also... You deal of swapping a similar spec laptop for PC seems a trifle unfair to me, laptops cost much more

thats why i said similar, i dont wanna dvd drive just a cdrw, only 256mb ram and about a 1.4 p4 or celeron maily for burning cd's etc not games
