the only bit that will come off is the lid thats above the spark plugs (in the middle of the image, with ecotec writen on it). The rest of the black cover has to be unbolted by the looks of it

yes its only a spark plug cover to make engine bay look neat and keep crap off plugs. i drove round without one on my 1.4 16V .

prep work.

sand it down as usual. try and get rid of the writing.
primer, just a coat or two.
then spray up.

easy peasy lemon squeezy

start with 600 or 800 wet n dry and then clean with thinners remove all dust etc. Spray on 2 coats of primer then 1200 wet n dry till perfectly smooth then 3 coats of paint. 30 min between coats then laquer it.

P.S warm up the cans before spraying.

paint, laquer and primer. £10-15

sanding paper. £5
