I got a 7.85 GB C:\ I have 2Gb free but wen I select all the files and look at the propites it shows 2.45Gb used

nah, do a scandisk on it (baking up any important files) and see what it comes up with. Also run Disk Cleanup and see if theres anything can be deleted (temp files, but DONT select to compress files). And if its your main drive, windows has loads of hidden files that may be taking up space
After all of that, do a defrag just for luck and see if its done anything?

Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from.

Alternatively, to take system-files into account, go into My Computer, right-click on the C:\ drive, and do Properties from there......should give you a pie-chart, showing how much you've used.
