ok I'm getting a 15" JLW3 and I'm being given a Kenwood 8151D by insurance...is this gonna be enough to power it or is it worth selling it and getting something better?

Amp will be ok if u get a Dual 2 ohm version of the sub and wire it to show 1 ohm load.

well you would get a Dual 2 ohm sub and wire the 2 coils together in parallel to a single set of terminals on the sub box.
Those terminals then show a 1 ohm load to the amp.
