Author why does everytihng go wrong at the same time?

as well as me losing a few bb's out the cv joint now it dies on me twice a day. Can anybody help - i replaced the battery but its still happening, all of a sudden their is no power, the acelerator stops working and the car slowly comes to a halt, sometimes i can revive it by dropping a gear but now im stumped and pi55ed off.

does the engine management light come on??

not 100% sure which one that is but the dash lights up as normal when ignition is on - all the normal ones, battery oil and a few others.

the management light is orange with a symbol inside it like a lightning strike,


see if this comes on mate if it does do the paperclip test

Does it come on when the engine cuts out not on start up

mine did this i had to replace the distributer and that stopped it

yeah that light comes on. pretty sure it came on when the car died. what exactly is the paperclip test - i have heard of it before. what does it do exactly?

the paper clip test is not working - no flashes it just stays on. i was gonna try the club hammer test but managed to drag myself away.
