oook i was parked on a SINGLE YELLOW LINE and my m8 parked infront of me got towed and he was just about to get mine as I was coming back so I told him to hop it. But I still had a ticket slapped on my car. Whats the laws about single yellow lines??

follow it round and make sure its a full line and not rubbed off or anything, coz then u cant get done.

well it joins onto double yellow lines at both ends, but what does a single yellow actually mean? I thought it was between certain periods only, and those periods would be posted on a sign in that area?

yea thats right, will be a little sign with the times, or a sign of loading only or sumthing like that.

If there are signs up ur screwed either way mate.
Contested a fine i got saying the line faded away, but still had to pay.

Single yellow lines mean you cant park there between 8.30 (i think) and 6.30(i think) or there abouts, after that then you can, double yellow means you cant park there at all at any time, and i think red route mean you cant stop at all unless you have a puncture or have broken down.
