SPX were the ultimate tacky trainer - in the same league as NafNaf's NafCo 54 jackets.

A complete rip-off of the BK trainer style, but such a cheap trainer. If you actually paid more for SPX than a pair of BKs then you were had

BK were also very tacky imo, very much in the same mold, personally I prefered my Nikes and Reebok Pumps around this sort of time, although I do remembering owning a pair of Troop Cobra II's which I fucking loved

'Troop gear always had the name written all over it- very '80s. The tennis shoes were the most expensive that you could buy, even more expensive than Reebok Pumps or the Nike Air Jordans or Bo Jackson Cross Trainers. LL Cool J had his own line of Troop sneakers and MC Hammer and his dancers wore Troop exclusively in his early videos'.
