does anyone know what was the fastest car, in the generation of the mk2 astra gte 16v, i.e late 80's early 90's.
im trying to help a mate pick a new car, but were stumped.
n/a mr2 is too slow, but mr2 turbo is out of price range.
any ideas?

i wanted him to have the pulsar/sunny but he refuses, says theyre fragile?? he wants an old supra, (old boxy one), but i told him calibra turbo.
it'll be hard to get summit faster than the astra for so little money, hes got full ncb but no money, whereas i have lots of money and only 1 yrs ncb, how annoying!

i wish his astra would just die! its done 140k and its still running sweet as a nut, i think its made out of granite actually! altho the body work is a little worse for wear(understatement).

corrado is a contender but the vr6's are holding their value too well he loves the sapphy cossies but also out of his price range (their more than 3k arnt they?)
ahh well, just have to wait until the gte rots to bits (no long now) then that will motivate him!
