my mate has just bought a punto gt, he cant insure it yet so he has had to resort to leaving it to stand till next march,

what kind of damage can be caused if he doesnt run it at all for that period of time?

just make sure he disconnects the battery, and also starts it up every so often and lets it warm up

let it run for about 5-10 minzutes each week

disconnect battery

put a tarpauline (sp?) - a big plastic sheet that yolu cant see through over it

make sure odd lil bits dnt go missing off it also.....

had a car stood on our driveway for about 4 month....and the battery......1 wheel......and an airbox off it went missing....also thr frotn windscreen got smashed and drivers side window

i bought a corsa which was stood for 18 months, passed MOT fine except a bit of rust on floor where drainage holes were covered with muck

just needed a good run out, dizzy and plugs cleaning and oil change

I personally would take the weight of the tyres as well, or plan to replace them when he ends up driving out.

If its uninsured you'd all need secure it properly.

Since he won't be using the car, he might be able to take out a special policy to insure it on his driveway. Might be able to build up a years NCD on the sly
