i've been on a tour of sheffield hallam 2day, an it looks pretty good !!! just wanted ppls opinions on the nightlife etc. in sheffield (especially those who live there !!!). Only problem is that i wouldn't take my car cos there is little parking and it seems pointless cos everythin i'll need will be on my doorstep.

my mates leavin there this year,i went down 4 a few days ages ago,was quite good out,especially liked bed,wednesday is skool disco nite,u no wot that means.lol. oh its super cheap 2

Definately recommend Sheffield and Hallam university. I'm just coming to the end of my second year of studying BSc Business and Technology. Night life is class and everywhere is cheap during the week.
If your not going to be travelling home much during term you can easily get away without a car. Liberty Court/Liberty works are nice halls as is Archways. If your course is based on the city campus definately choose a halls thats pretty close.
For more opinions ask M2RV H and Kris TD, they'll tell you the same tho. It class!

yeah i'll be at city campus. I've had a quick look round archways 2day. looks quite good really. If i don't run my car during the week it'll save me loads on petrol etc., so that would be a good thing

You'd struggle to park around there I reckon. Could get a residents permit to park on the road but not guaranteed a spot. I didn't have my car in the first year!

don't see a need for it 2 be honest. train stations only over the road !!

Ive bin lucky enough to live in sheffield all my life  .
Night life is pretty good, loads of clubs n pubs. gatecrasher, bed, and zero are prob the best. Cos its got two pretty large unis most places do a students night and are quite cheap, which is nice. ha.
got a few mates at hallam. all of them seem pleased with their courses. student union is good, sports facilities are good etc.
youll get a jweekend type job quite easily as well if thats any use.
also, should you decide to bring your car, we got L4 leather for your retrim needs, halfords, music world, ascar exhausts (exhaustuk.com), auto tint etc so its a reasonable place to mod your car.
