My internet connection keeps going down and up, down and up.

I'm on broadband with bt. But I'm listening to music streaming and suddenly it'll stop. Msn Messenger keeps going offline every 2 secs and I've been downloading some stuff that isn't that big through bittorrent and its taking forever, because as soon as it starts connecting to peers it disconnects, reconnects and then has to reconnect to peers again :mad

Wtf is going on?

I thought maybe its this virus thingy, but I have no problems as in - my pc hasn't been switching itself off at all. Or could the virus be on my router? and so it keeps switching my router off

If this is the case, how do I get it off my router?>

Could be issues on your exchange, best thing to do is ring BT and get them to check the status of the line,

see what your ping times are ,

and also power router down for 30 mins to kill the active session and then power back on with fresh session.

if this still fails , disconnect DSL through the router and log on with:

Username: bt_test@startup_domain

*no passowrd*

connect with this (wont be able to browse anywhere , only connect)

disconnect and reconnect using your details and see how it is.
