How much to colour code this at a pro bodyshop:
I want all the arches, strip across top off the bumpers and rub strips doing. Would it look too much to get the door handles done aswell? Cant think of anywhere else to colour code unless Ive forgotten anything.
I want an idea of wot sort of price to expect cos Im looking to get it done at the Vauxhall garage.

I had a Vauxhal dealer do all 4 arches, front and rear bumper tops-smoothed and painted for circa £400 and then my handles and rubstrips were about £150 later on. ( i got a rear door handle from a 5 door to get rid of the lock) Id say about £550 should cover it

I got told that by my Uncle who is the bodyshop manager at Vauxhall and that was for colour coding ALL of the black plastic bumpers on a pre facelift model so I should be able to get it a bit cheaper. just thought I would see if anyone could beat his price before I went ahead and did it so bit of a trick question really! not paying over £300 when Vauxhall have quoted me £300! and he is an excellent metallic paint sprayer.

Nah, some of those prices are terrible if you've been quoted it. Its a fairly straight forward, to the extent where the car would only do an over nighter at most... in some cases we even do them in half a day.
Car would come in and have the plastics cleaned up and "keyed", then the car would be masked up and placed in the booth for a few coats of plastic primer and high build primer. That would get baked dry then removed to be flattened down to give a nice smooth dimple effect free paint surface. The car gets remasked and placed in the booth for painting. In some caes the off the gun finish is good enough and it doesnt need any polishing. Or if it needs a polish its a quick de-nip and polish at most.
Other things you could do is colour-code the handles, scuttle, roof rails, boot lock etc.
This would be the panels painted only. To blend the bumpers into the wings and blend the bump strips into the surrounding bodyworl etc, then your talking allot more money. But generally people dont bother going that far for colour coding.
Thats your car being painted in the best of conditions with brand new state of the art equipment. We also use top quality paint which would allow us to give you a 5 year warrenty programme with the paint work.

300 is not a bad price for complete bumpers. and that. my bro got a new shape ibiza bumper supplied, sprayed and he fitted it himself. his work charged him £200, now considering they paid £135 for the bumper in the first place isn't bad. thats ford bodyshop btw.

Think it would too much to have the scuttle panel and roof rails done. Sounds about right what u are saying Colour-Tec cos I got told 8 hours labour max.
There is a corsa exactly the same as mine near me and she has got all those bits colour coded and put some 15" new shape SXi alloys on it and it looks mint. Makes the car look shinier cos there is no black plastic breaking the paint up. Not sure if I want to get the door handles done though cos it might look a little OTT!
Thanks for your comments

I would get the door locks, and the boot lock painted. Leave the roof rails, but go for the scuttle panel. I think that nice touch
