computer fans have 3 wires..

red black and yellow.

if i wanted to run 1 off a car battery which wires would i need to connect??

they also have red black & blue

red & black are the power wires, the other (blue or yellow) is the sender wire which tells the board how fast there spinning.

Don't just connect them straight up though, as the battery will be supplying too much current (amps) for them so they will just fry.

would of thought given the rating of the computer fan, it would go pop as I've had a few do that in the past to myself...
