anyone know why this happens or how it is broken. is it an easy job to fix. im sure theres a gas thing in there?

the gas thing is for the tensioner, nothing to do with a buckle.

Has the 'clip' that secures the buckle in been jammed 'open' ???

dunno really. it works sometimes then not other. tried wd40 but no luck. where would i buy a new one from?

erm....... phone the parts department...

Failing that, try a breakers yard or scrappie.... cheaper, but not what it want to trust my life with....

get a s/h one mega bucks from vauxhall
cant repair them replacement only and quite common

from vaux there £120 and they say they have to fit it
from scrappy it is £50 a side

this happened to mine, got one from a scrappy from a tigra for 60 quid, fit it myself, quite easy

mine used to do this about once a month randomly.
i just poked my key down the slot which freed the mechanism back up.

Paid £15 plus vat at my scrappy and they are mega expensive £50 is a rip off

mine did this twice on my old corsa.

can buy the holder for way less than 50quid if you look hard enough.
