Would you ever drive a Corsa 2.0 16V when it's insured fully comp as a 1.4 16V??
Tempting to do so, then change insurance to suit once I have a years no claims.
Maybe best to go third party fire and theft and insure it as a 2.0 16V.

best to tell insurance companies the truth.

Insure it properly or don't do the conversion was my thoughts when I did it. I know the insurance is cripling, but if you end up going to jail after you put someone in a wheelchair...
Tempting fate a bit too much I think...
Also do your V5/tax update, or else insurance is void

Insurance will be void anyway if you change the engine without telling them.

I know, but even if you have 2.0 insurance, it's void unless the V5 is correct too...

FFS people!
Hmm, I can't be hooped shelling out for insurance at all, should I drive my car uninsured??
Of fucking course not!!! Don't be so fucking stupid and get it insured as a 2.0 if you get it done.
If you crash and your insurance is voided by company, since you didn't tell them about the small upgrade lurking under the bonnet, then you will be personally liable for any 3rd party damage. If you think the insurance company is raping you just now, wait till those "no win no fee" lawyers get their grubby little hands on you!!!!

if you cant afford the insurance, dont get the conversion. if someone crashed into me who had an illegal engine conversion and there insurance was void i would make sure they went down big time for it.

Insurance can be nulled and voided by simply changing your wheels for a different type. Insurance firms remember are a business not a charity.
