mate, it goes into 3 lanes in some parts, and i believe its 4 lanes near the welling garden city / stevenage junctions.....but i believe it also goes in to one lane at one point....but since i dont really use it, im not 100% sure mate

It becomes 4 lanes South of Peterborough until you reach the black cat roundabout on the A14, when it becomes 2 again.
