hi, yesterday i noticed when i accelerate my cars starts to sqeal really loud! its like a constant sqeek coming from the engine bay and its well embarassing! apparently, it could be the fan belt? how can i stop it? is it a case of a new fan belt?

tighten it up.
or if you do need a new one its only a 5min job. fan belt is about £4

check if its loose or not first by pushing on it to see if there is any slack, if there is loosten the bolt on the alternator then push it up to tightne the belt. Re-tighten the bolt then you are done.

just checked and the belt is not slack! everything looks fine - so i dunno what it is? looks like ill have to book it in at the garage

get the haynes manual out, it has a troubleshooting section. If i remember correctly.
