Design And build, at a guess, we do no end of supermarket work, we design co-ops and they are always done on this contract, dont quote me though cos from what i see we seem to do things different round here,

please dont take my word for it matey, i woudl hate it to be wrong, i think as a company we dot like to get too involved on site, but i just asked one of our architects and he said it could be a number of them depending on whos involved etc, but said most likely design and build

im an architectural technician, architect comes up with an idea, he draws a sketch, then i draw it up, put it in for planning, then turn it into a working drawing so a builder can build it from the drawing and get building regulations for it

I would have said the Design & Build contract, as all of the buildings will be similar!!
Do u have to state Advantages & Disadvantages

The main disadvantage of D&B contracts is that variations are at a minimum! Any discrepencies need to be brought up before the contract commences
I did a similar assignment a while ago, just checked my PC (At work) but it must be at home Give us a shout if u need any further info

Yeah would be Design & Build since:
The project does not have a high uncertainty. Its basically a simple frame construction and its repeated 12 times.
D&B can also be termed Integrated coalition or single point responsibility. The risk of the project is transferred to the supplier.
Just completed my hons in Building Surveying. Would recommend this book:
Managing Construction Projects by Graham Winch.

Lol. I had to do Statistics, micro and macro economics and Constitutional & admin Law (Think thats its name) in my first year. Whats that got to do with surveying?! As my course got more advanced it gets more relevant tho.
Think yourself lucky your not at uni. I had a m8 that done Quantity surv but they have do another course along side it.
1) Building services and Quantity Surv or
2) Building Economics and QS.
What I did find tho that, even tho I hated it at the time, doing these kinds of subjects does help later on in other subjects. It'll fall into place at some time Avey m8.

Im good enough at my job! Dont really need a certificate to say so
Most people I speak to say that the stuff they learned in their degree is mostly irrelevant to their job - QS's btw!!
I will have to see whats happening at the time, Ive got a year to think about it
