Mk2 is definatley the daddy......
i wouldn't say they are "really nice cars" these days, just beasting if u spend the £££

would have either, mk2 is used more in rallying, maybe cos' they aint quite as rare as mk1's 
And a 200+bhp xe in one would go well through those back wheels you have to mount the engine lengthways don't u ?

mk1, roger clark rally spec or barry lee hotrod style.
My dad had a lotus twin cam which was equivalent of the cossie in its day!!
Lovely cars with a cleab shell and tuned zetec or cossie motor!
You will pay 3k plus for o good shell
