Got the chance of a very good deal to Playa de Ingles in couple of weeks time but none of us have been and were wondering what it was like, the pubs, clubs, water sports etc..
Any info appreciated

Yep, went there last october... was kewl... got to the Irish area in Ingles, orget the name but pick up a map of the cc's and head for the irish one  avoid the yumbo

Some one was saying the whole place is split up into different comercial centres was told Roja and Kasbah where the livliest parts.

We did some good excursions... a helicopter ride round the island which was fantastic... was €250 each tho :S
Also avoid the cowboy place
Re. pubs/clubs again... its similar to tenerife but probly not as busy... take copious amounts of trips to the dunes/beaches... they are wicked and some sweet secluded areas for... well, ya know  take a nice walk from ingles round the dune to maspolamas

Yep, Aguila Roja is Irish (thats why i was saying la roca - remembered now ) and kasbah is the english area... Aguila Roja is a bit out of the way tho so cheap taxis

i satyed in playa de ingles last summer, where club reps was filmed, jonny hormone was our rep, used to come out with us on his days off. my mates got on tv a couple of times but i didnt.
the reason they filmed it there is coz they think its gonna be the place everyone wants to go in a couple of years.
i would reccomend goin there, i had a great time, theres loads of bars, quite a few clubs, and there was plently of girls.
if u can, try and stay in 'las solamones' (think thats how u spell it) the hotel is shaped like a cylinder shape, so u get to know everyone in your hotel quite well, instead of the normal style where u hardly even see anyone from your hotel except by the pool.
i went to Malia the year before, Gran Canaria is much better

Cant remember the name of the hotel but it's 2 weeks 4* and Half Board for £650 which you cant complain about

Kasbah is the best place to go for nightlife. u go down a massive set of steps and at the bottom there is about 6 bars in a big circle, and theres loads of bars at the top of the steps. go to 'linekers' bar, thats were we used to start the night off, but beware of the dodgy pool tables

imo i think peurto rico is the best part of gran canaria there is night club galore that open till 7 in the morn.

is the kasbah area down were cream was the english centre?
if so the Aguila Roja is about 5 mins walk ya lazy yoke
i was trying to remember the name of that place -->Aguila Roja for ages.
i was there in 2001 goo aul holiday. music is well cheesy but yer on holiday so ya make the best outta it.

Yes they are close to each other but not necessarily close to people if ya get my meaning, they were a 20/25 min walk from Yumbo for example
