rite im doing me maths b4 jumping into anything, but whats the cheapest way I can do a valver conversion? fittin the engine aint scary but the cost of the mounts n shafts is? I heard u can make the plates for the anti-roll bars urself, as a mate of mine did, is there much else u can make urself for it?

Mounts - £90 off of Lee Mitchel
V-Tuning plate - £90
Ecotec pipe - free or about £10
Driveshafts - free off of the donor car
Hubs - £90 off of Cossvaux (I think)

anyone who is handy with metalworking can make your engine mounts.

and machine hubs etc. just makes htings more complicated, but saves £££

well im gonna buy the kit bit by bit I think once the kit is in my posession will look for a donor car , let the sellin of random rubbish on ebay commence

lol rob we will ave to go halves on a conversion kit, then fabricate a dozen or so kits or...order kit, copy then send bk?

I bought an engine mount from courtney(£107). Took it to the local blacksmiths and they copied it for £50!! Then sent the other one back. Use original gearbox mount. And the one at the back needs slightly modified. You can use driveshafts and hubs from cavalier but you need to get the hubs machined down a bit so the corsa bearings will fit on them.

so is it only the one engine mount I wud need from courtenay or somewhere?I can get cav stuff easily and cheaply-I cud probably get a whole 1800 cav for peanuts down ere, take the shafts off n weigh it in? if I can keep costs down like that, I think im gonna whack the lump in myself n either get my old man to try wiring it in or go to a pro for that
