I live Birminghamish, Id say it was cheapish, has a really good night life, loads of different places which all do student nights for cheap nights out.
Good public transport, centre of country, is a good place to be

Southampton Uni rather than Institute is a VERY good uni!
also has a good nightlife, living costs will be high due to being in the south, but cheaper than London

tom i just ignored him
but carlisle has its down sides, i wana go out clubbing etc, theres not as much of that around carlisle as there is in the big towns etc. but with moving far away, the cost is quite bad £2500 a year jst for me rent, then theres all rates, food etc on top of that

Yeah that's the fun of doing it I spose, depends on what balance u want.
Loads of debt by moving to a big town or less debt being sensible in the week and enjoying seeing your mates and going mental on the weekend

nothing wrong with the institute - Im there now - 1/2 wy thru a 4 year course in Yacht and powercraft design - its a world renound course and the facilities at the institue are
As for the city - theres rarely a lot of trouble - loads of pubs that cater for everyones tastes and 6/7 decent clubs - plenty to do - shop[ping is first class
and to be honest living costs are pretty much the saame wherever u go nowadays - all the supermarkets charge the same prices up north where Im from as they do in Southampton
Housing Ive got a 5 bedroomed house - between 5 of us - big garden, driveway - modern kitchen and decor - well maintained and Pay £55 pp/pw

birmingham is a student capital!
there 3 main uni (birmingham, Aston and the UCE) plus loads of colleges within a 10 mile radius of brum!
with so many students living there, it means that there are loads of houses up for rent for reasonable prices.
there are loads of student pubs and bars so u wont miss out there
overall... its cheap
pew pew pew pewwwww

london is £60 a week a room approx, plenty of places to go and things to do
surrey is an ace area to live in, very posh, and no rif raff

Ive had no probs in Southmpton - aand I reputadely live in the roughest area - The roughest area of southampton equates to the best area of a lot of cities -its better than some of the best parts of Stoke
I love it down there -I miss home - but uve got so much on the doorstep - nd £14 return to the isle of white - I love it on the IOW - amazing atmosphere; pubs, food and scenery with good shops there too
