If the light keeps blinking it means that the ECU is either fucked or that the key chip thats in the ignition doesnt match the code in the ECU.

Im not totally up to speed with those wiring changes. U2U Beardy

However the paper clip test will not work on those ECU's.

What faults are you having?

the test works on all vauxhalls if the wiring is correct, me and my mates have done valvers in nova's and corsa's and LET's into mk 3 astra's and im putting a LET in my corsa and and if the wiring is installed correctly then following that link above will get you the correct codes.

Yes but the plugs are different in the vehicles so shorting those pins usually dont send the same signals to the ECU. Unless the plugs are also rewired then it probably wont work.

cheak the earth strap is a good earth to the inner wing from the engine, if you have'nt got a good earth it will turn and turn and turn and flood its self. just put a jump lead on the neg of the bat and to some were good on the engine like the crain lifing point and try to turn it over. ive had this problem with the valvers in corsa's before and its always something simple

There should be 3 earths. One to the engine block, one to the alternator and one to the car chassis.

There should be those three standard on any engine.

2 earths from the battery (engine block and car chassis) and one earth to the battery (alternator)

If i am wrong someone please correct me on this.

The alternator should have three outputs. It should have a positive directly to the battery, an earth straight to the battery and also a 12v output trigger when the alternator is turning
