i dunno if there any good or not When i sell a set of wheels at work i give the customer a choice of tyres, budget, midrange or branded. Nankangs are allways the cheapest, also there logo and tread patterns looks very similar to yokohamas. might be the same company

nankangs are dunlops old tyres rebranded, so there perfectly good tyres, just a few years behind the times.

They ARE a budget brand tho.

Yeah Nankang are a budget brand of tyres, but for the mopney you really cant complain. I pay £42 per tyre for nankangs locally they last the right amount of time, never cause problems etc.

Granted they aint the best tyres around, tend to understeer a bit on the wet, and easy to get spinning when pulling off in the wet but other than that not bad at all.

I'll second that... go for Avons or BFGs...

If you need a sticky tyre tho, Nankangs are meant to be good once you warm them up (in the dry)...

I've got nankangs on mine due to purchusing the wheels off a mate and not having a choice on wot he put on2 it!

anyway in the dry their perfectly fine but u show me a tire that isnt!!!

so far in the wet they've been ok only fucked up due to me being a little silly with my speed and corners which i wont be repeating!

Avons are a good choice tho I had them on my fiesta and my rents have them on their cars and all i can say is

My pal has Nakyangs on his Saxo and they have done 22,000 miles and are still very legal. I have them now on my Corsa and dont have n e probs with them. Not really gave them much to cope with in the wet but i am fairly confident that they would hold enough. Dont really need Yoko's or Toyo tyres on a 1.4 ith 17's. So yeah unless u have like a Scooby or 2l corsa then i dont see anything wrong with them.

They are usually the cheapest tyre i'm able to get for people's wheels too, but i have heard they were tested against Goodyear Eagle F1's and outperformed them, but i dont know how true this is.

true comment on getting good tyres being an important thing but I dont think you could call Nankangs poor or unsafe in the wet. I have run nankangs for a while now on my 2 cars and can't complain. Had Flaken ZE512's on my Corsa and I was extremely happy with them, cornering in the dry was a great improvement over the Nankangs but still wouldnt say Nankangs are poor, they are budgets but they do the job they are supposed to.

They understeer nicely in the wet too, can have a bit of a play with them on corners.

I have Nankang tyres on my set of 17" Dare V2's and there fine, they seem to last a long time if the car in driven normally.
