Flashing Tape is shite, i used it on my car and it made fuck all difference and then when i put dynamat on there was an instance difference!

You pay for what you get!

like hell it does!

used 3 layers and it makles a HUGE difference, also added some on insides too


I had a double layer of flashing tape in the boot and footwell and spent a whole Sunday heating it and removing it. Aside from the wonderful smell of tar when the weather was hot, there was no significant benefit. Sound deadening was non-existant.

As I removed it, I pulled up the factory sound deadening too - replaced it with a single layer of Dynamat Extreme and it's just so much quieter.

Maybe where you've used Aquaseal Hiband on the doors you've just stopped localised vibrations by sticking everything together, but in terms of acoustics, flashing tape is no substitute for brown bread, dynamat, etc.
