does anyone know where i can get any sort of software for the 6600 so it plays mp3??

no it don't play mp3's. i thought it did too but when i tried it, it just says format unknown.

There must be some sort of application that let's it play mp3's

plays wav files fine (and use um as tonez) just alot bigger tho get a 128 card should get around 60+ tracks on easy

Realplayer on the phone is SHITE, you need the HELIX modified Realplayer which plays MP3 format. The std one doesn't.

UltraMP3 is ok also, but the phone is mono, if you wanted MP3 player should have bought a 6230. Or the new7610.

Also you need a card reader to put the files directly on the memory card otherwise bluetoothing them into the inbox they open up with the MP3 player u install and its limited to space on the phones memory, you dont get the option of installing them or saving them to mem card like you do with applications.

Its supposed to be a friggin business phone anyway, although I do play DOOM and Nightmare on it.

Just found the one I used, hasnt really got a name apart from 'MP3 Player' got it on one of those CD-ROMs you get on eBay for a few quid with loads of programs and videos etc.

Yeah I got one of those discs too, full of dodgy copied software.

The Helix realplayer was on that , I got a 256m b mem card was watching predator on the phone whilst waiting for my car to be MOT'd today.

Films is one think songs are another yeah.

A bit pointess, as its mono, the 6230 is stereo at least you can plug the phones in.

ultramp3 does work on the 6600 as its symbian.quality is good as well....can play through loudspeaker etc.

6600 is very versitile
