Mate bought new car two days ago. Previous owner told us it had been in an accident and had been repaired. The driver side door which had been damaged was replaced. However, the model sticker/badge on the driver's side door has been lacquered over rather than stuck over the lacquer. We tried to de-badge, managed to get the nearside one off but we can't get a grip on the driver's side one as it is completely smooth.

Don't want to be paying for someone to take a small badge off, but he wants it off. We've tried thinner/turps/white spirits to try and loosen the lacquer/sticker as it always works in other places.

What products can I use to get at the sticker? Any advice? Thanks.

Grrr. Willing to be a bit adventurous tommorow with the stanley. Hopefully it'll be painted underneath. Any other ideas? As for removing lacquer are there any products?
