Ok, right. A Uni-Chip is best suited to cars that have been slightly tuned up, using say, an induction kit, different spec cams and pullys. It sits piggyback to the ECU and helps you get the most out of your engine mods by altering signals sent to the ECU from sensors in the engine. This means you can have a higer rev limit e.t.c... It gets rid of flatspots in the engines torque and power range too... Just sticking a Uni-Chip onto your ECU won't do much, and will be a bit of a waste of cash as they are pretty expensive to buy and set up, as they need to be sorted on a roling road to get the most out of them.

There are alternatives, you can get reprogrammable ECU's which run different software. I'm not sure what's available for Vauxhalls, but I know that VAG engines respond very well to this sort of tuning. Jabbasport do kits that let you have different modes, like, normal, sport and vallet...

i already have a superchip- would a unichip replace this or 'piggy back' it?

a uni chip will not add power to your car if it is not modded, it takes advantage errors such as overfueling/underfueling, basically maps your engine to run at its peak. Anybody thinking they can splap a unichip on a standard car and get gains are foolish

edit: unless there cars are under or overfueling which would be caused be another factor in which case best to take to a garage to see what the underlying factor is to get it sorted

you can run a unichip and superchip along side eachother i belive
Use the map from the unichip and the upped limit from the superchip
