Hi, i recently bought a 1.6 opel corsa gsi over here in ireland.
A few days ago i filled it to the top for the first time and started getting a very bad petrol smell inside the car, but only when the car was running and it got less and less as the petrol emptied from the tank, to basicly none when the tank was in the red.
went to opel, and since it was a 94 car that i didnt buy off them (i assume this is the reason anyway ) all the fella kept saying when i asked could i get it checked out and how much would it be was "have u checked this, and have u checked that), ie. he didnt want my business, so any idea's?
my usual machanic will have a look at when i want but if i can save him time and give him a few suggestions, as he does it for me for free
thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

could be a dodgy seal on the fuel pump, so when its full its leaking slightly...
either way petrol in a car only when the tank is full isn't a good sign!

Weel is not ONLY when its full, the smell gets less noticable as the tanks empties, to the point where i only smell if under harder acceleration

just making things clear so i can help my mechanic as much as possible, this petrol smell is inside the car and only when running, and if i was to guess its nearer the back, but thats a guess.
how expensive are injectors seals. i knowur prices are sterling, but just an idea thanks
