ok then if you have seen my prev thread ive got a set of tsw venom 17" with et 40 off set and they scrub like mad on my corsa c sri. But i also have a set of miglia 1000 actions at et 45 which dont scrub but i would need extended wheel bolts and spacers to get em past the brakes, so if they are et 45 would i need 4 mm spacers to make it et 49? or would that make it et 40?, if u wana know the story my venoms at et40 were suggested to me by a company because they said that the actions at et 45 were the wrong offset and they promiused i wouldnt have any problems grrrrr. any help much appreciated, would it just be better to just go for 16" wheels?

as far as i know the ET size is teh gap between the arch and the wheel..
ie. ET 0 for example would be flush with body work. ET40 would be 40mm behind the arch.
so on a corsa ET 39 would stuck out of the arch.
et 45 would sit safley under the arch..
to your question.
ET 40 with 4mm spacers would make it ET36

ET 40 is the correct offset for a corsa c sri.
Its what my standard sri wheels are on my 1.8.
ET 45 with a 4mm spacer will make it ET 41.
whoever told u ET 45 is wrong offset for a corsa is wrong. best vaux offset is ET 42-49.
hope this helps.

spacers decrease the offset and make the wheels stick out further.
why do you need extended wheels bolts to get the wheels past the brakes?
surely you would only need them if you were to get spacers?

you probably need to just de bolt the rear arches (if you can do that on a corsa c). have a look under the rear arches and any places where you think might scrub, cut them off and smooth them down

yes i meant i would need extended wheel bolts if i was to get spacers, another thing is that they did not rub much before unless i had a car with a few people init but i had a crash and now they rub constantly could it be that my suspension could be buggeres if so is it easy for vauxhaul to check it?, i have had the arches de-bolted already and rolled.

Miglias are chunky wheels, which could be why they foul on your breaks at ET45, try another make of ET45 alloy like Dare, there spokes are thinner in depth and i imagine would be fine.

Wheel offset is the difference between the bolt face, and the wheel's centre.
