as above , the rear back rest i got , when pushed back onto pegs does not clip, but i think thats because the wire that runs through the hole has popped out on either side ? will some one with the old style rear bench(-95) have a look for me please.

Rear benches don't click in, they just slot in place and they are prevented from hopping out by a small screw....
